Celebrating the Early Keyboard: Continuo Workshop

Join us for an exciting duo of early keyboard events! Internationally known Elisabeth Wright will perform a harpsichord recital on Friday evening, followed on Saturday by a morning workshop on continuo playing for organists and harpsichordists.

Elisabeth Wright, a Portland native, is Professor of Music in Harpsichord and Fortepiano at Indiana University. She has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and continuo improviser at numerous festivals and concert series around the world and has been a member of Duo Geminiani with violinist Stanley Ritchie since 1974. She has recorded for Focus, Centaur, Musical Heritage, Milan-Jade, Classic Masters, and Pro Musica Antiqua labels and is in demand for master classes and summer courses in the United States and abroad. Ms. Wright has served as artistic director of projects devoted to musical settings of Italian baroque poetry. She is a founding member of the Seattle Early Music Guild and Bloomington Early Music Associates and serves as a board member of the Early Music America and a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts.
